Taylor Swift’s childhood was almost written out of a warm and cheesy Hallmark movie, because she actually grew up on a Christmas Tree Farm.
Taylor’s iconic upbringing, which can’t be any more festive than growing up at the North Pole, is one of the interesting facts about the star. She even released a song of the same name Christmas Tree Farm, which led to Taylor Swift explaining to fans it’s true. The song reached the top of the charts in various countries and was beloved by Swifties. The track’s lyrics suggest Tay Tay is nostalgic over the Christmas season. It’s also a special month for the celebrity, because her birthday is on December 13 – her favorite number.
Yes, Taylor Swift really did grow up on a Christmas Tree Farm
When she released Christmas Tree Farm, Taylor Swift revealed her dad once owned one and her childhood was its inspiration. She seems to have spent quite a bit of time there and has many happy memories, so it’s no wonder she wrote a song filled with lots of nostalgia.
Lyrics in the uptempo romance-filled track include: “In my heart is a Christmas tree farm / Where the people would come / To dance under sparkling lights / Bundled up in their mittens and coats / And the cider would flow / And I just wanna be there tonight.”
The music video features home footage of Taylor and her family throughout the festive period while she was growing up.

Taylor later wrote on Twitter to confirm that she did, in fact, live some of her childhood on an actual Christmas tree farm.
Sharing the artwork, which features a grainy picture of a young Taylor holding a white dog, she penned: “I actually did grow up on a Christmas tree farm. In a gingerbread house, deep within the yummy gummy gumdrop forest. Where, funnily enough, this song is their national anthem. #ChristmasTreeFarm song and video out now [Christmas tree emoji].”
She later told those who were skeptical more evidence of her surroundings growing up.
She joked: “Here we are on said Xmas tree farm. And I just want to say that my parents are the real 90’s fashion icons. I have spoken.”
Taylor’s love for Christmas
Taylor’s dad Scott bought Pine Ridge farm, when working as a stockbroker, and bought the land from a client. He tended to it in his spare time, and young Taylor’s job was to pick out the praying mantis pods so they wouldn’t hatch in people’s barns.
The farm was in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, Taylor’s home state, where she lived up until the age of 14. Her family then relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, to help Taylor’s career flourish as she wanted to become a country singer.

She gave fans more details about the farm: “Just like for the feeling that everybody has. Everybody’s buying gifts for each other and there’s sort of a feeling about it.”
“I really love Christmas, I wish it was all year round. I grew up on a farm. It was a Christmas tree farm, though, so that’s why I’m sort of obsessed with Christmas.”
