Whitney Port has admitted that a common health measure was “eye-opening” after her fans and husband raised concerns about her weight loss. The American TV personality rose to fame after appearing on the MTV show The Hills.

The 38-year-old designer and author has addressed concerns from her fans about her body and asserted that she’s taken action toward a healthier lifestyle. Whitney shared her honest thoughts and revealed that a common measure gave her a better idea of what she needed to do.

Whitney Port addresses weight loss concerns

Speaking on her With Whit podcast, Whitney admitted that she had no idea about her weight before she got on a scale.

“Getting on the scale was definitely an eye opener,” she explained in the episode and continued: “I had no idea that I weighed as little as I did.”

She explained: “But in my head, I didn’t think it was as big of a deal as it actually was—and I still don’t really—but I do think that I’m clearly not eating enough and that how I look right now does not look healthy. It’s not how I want to look.”

Whitney said she’s gone through “self-reflection” and has taken small steps to change her diet and fitness routine.

“I want to put the right things in my body and I also want to work out in a way that will build muscle,” the TV personality added. “So I’m on it, guys. Thank you for caring. Thank you for your love, for your support, for not saying something and then feeling comfortable saying something after I said something.”

Whitney’s husband raised concerns about health

In an Instagram Story last month, Whitney revealed that her husband Tim Rosenman also raised concerns about her health.

“I want to address my weight real quick. I’ve gotten a lot of comments about looking too thin,” the reality star wrote. “At first, it didn’t bother me. I chalked it up to people not knowing what my diet [looked] like.”

“But Timmy brought it to my attention, as a good husband should, and said it’s not just something strangers are spewing. He has been worried about me,” she explained.

Whitney and Tim have been married since 2015 and welcomed one child together. Their son Sonny Sanford Rosenman was born in July 2017.

Whitney rose to fame on The Hills

Whitney gained popularity after landing a role in the reality series The Hills alongside cast members Heidi Montag, Lauren Conrad, and Audrina Patridge.

She was cast in the spin-off series The City which followed her internship in New York City with Belgian designer Diane von Fürstenberg. Whitney and her husband Tim met after filming The City, where he served as a producer.

The show was canceled after two seasons and Whitney focussed on her fashion career and went on to launch the fashion brand Whitney Eve.

Apart from her career as designer, Whitney is also an author and is involved in a lot of social media work having launched her own podcast.
