Richard Simmons has relieved shocked fans as he cleared up a message that had the internet thinking he was dying.

The 75-year-old fitness guru retreated from the celebrity life a decade ago but has been using Facebook to send messages and keep up to date with his fans. However, one post sent shivers down their spine as they feared for his future.

Richard Simmons reveals he’s not dying – despite concerning post

The concerning Facebook post from the fitness guru began: “I have some news to tell you.

“Please don’t be sad. I am ….dying. Oh I can see your faces now.”

However, he then continued: “The truth is we all are dying. Every day we live we are getting closer to our death.”

In the lengthy post, the 75-year-old then went on to tell fans he wanted them to, “to enjoy your life to the fullest every single day. Get up in the morning and look at the sky… count your blessings and enjoy.”

He then went on to give his advice on healthy meal choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and went on to plug his YouTube video.

He concluded with: “Tell the ones that you love that you love them. Hug those people and children who you really care for. A big hug really goes a long way.”

“If you have time I want you to listen to a terrific song. It is by Tim McGraw it is called Live Like You Were Dying. Live today and don’t forget to pray. Love, Richard.”

After receiving many concerned comments from fans, Richard took to social media to issue an apology. “Sorry many of you have gotten upset about my message today. Even the press has gotten in touch with me. I am not dying,” he explained.

“It was a message about saying how we should embrace every day that we have. Sorry for this confusion. Love Richard,” the fitness guru concluded.

Not all fans were concerned

Although many were worried about Simmon’s health many reassured him that there was no need for him to apologize, and that they understood his motivational message.

“I understood you. And it’s a great message. Our time is short,” penned one.

Another wrote: “Thank you for the clarification. I understood your message but was still a bit concerned for you.”

A third penned: “People are so sensitive. I understood right away. We are all dying and we should enjoy each day to the fullest. It was a beautiful message. Must be a slow news day.”

“You are loved by so many, Richard! While it may feel overwhelming to be inundated with that kind of media attention, please also feel the collective love!!” exclaimed a fourth.
