Madonna is slaying on her Celebration Tour, after having to postpone it due to being hospitalized following a serious bacterial infection. She’s now opening up about her health scare on stage, including the first word she uttered after waking up from her coma.
The music star was released from the hospital at the end of June, after spending several days in the ICU, after being found unresponsive. Weeks after being released, the 65-year-old shared her first thoughts after waking up in the hospital, and now she’s sharing her very first word.
Madonna reveals first word after waking up from coma
Embarking on her delayed US Tour, due to her health scare, the 65-year-old opened up about her ‘near-death experience’ during Monday night’s show in Inglewood.
“This Summer, I had a surprise,” she emotionally told the crowd. “It’s called a near-death experience. I’m not kidding, it was pretty scary.”
Speaking about her induced coma, the Like A Virgin singer revealed: “When I woke up the first word I said was ‘no,'” as the crowd erupted into cheers.
“I’m pretty sure that God was saying to me, ‘Do you wanna come with, wanna come with us?’ and I said ‘NO! NO!'”
The star then went on to welcome a “very special man” in the crowd, her doctor David Agus who she said put up with “so many irritating phone calls” from her when she was ill.
Madonna also revealed the show “is not really so hard for me physically” after her health battle, but harder on her emotionally, as she’s ‘telling the story of her life’.
“It’s a miracle and blessing to still have her,” wrote one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I love her so much, and I’m so grateful she’s alive and well,” penned another.

The star has had many special guests during her mammoth Celebration Tour, helping her to judge for her hit Vogue.
A couple of months ago, she formerly introduced her boyfriend Josh Popper onstage as they sealed the deal with a kiss in front of thousands of fans.
On Monday night, special guest Eric Andre had the pop icon in stitches as he proceeded to flash his bare bum on stage.
The comedian was eager to get involved with the dancers, as he bent over, allowing one performer to slap his bottom.
As if the shows weren’t entertaining enough already!
